This FREE one-day conference for patients and their family members is a collaborative effort between the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF). Participants will learn the latest on the diagnosis and treatment of MDS, MPN, aplastic anemia and PNH from leading experts in the field. Information on how to optimize your emotional and physical health during all phases of the disease will also be included. Patients will have time to ask questions of the experts, and network with other patients. We strongly encourage you to attend, if you or your loved one has been diagnosed with MDS, MPN, aplastic anemia or PNH.

At the conclusion of this one-day conference, you can expect to better understand:
  • What treatment options are currently available to patients with MDS, MPN, aplastic anemia, and PNH
  • What you or your loved one can do to help maintain emotional and physical health during all phases of the illness
  • How to be better prepared to talk to your doctor about MDS, MPN, aplastic anemia, PNH and treatment options
Before you Arrive:

During this conference, you will have unprecedented access to some of the leading experts in treating your disease. So before you arrive, you will want to do everything possible to make the most of your time with them.

Online tools and basic resources:

1. Our interactive learning module on Blood and Bone Marrow Basics
2. Webinars with basic information for your disease
     a. View Aplastic Anemia 101
     b. View MDS Interactive Learning Module
     c. View PNH Interactive Learning Module

Additional options and suggestions:

  • Make a list of questions you want to have answered at the conference. Prioritize the list so you ask your most important questions first.
  • Ask a family or friend to attend with you. This person can help you ask questions, take notes, and provide support if you begin to feel ill. Make sure this person also watches the Blood and Bone Marrow Basics and appropriate 101 webcast.
  • Plan to arrive early. Come and enjoy breakfast, meet others with your disease, and relax for a few minutes before the sessions start.
By learning the basics, coming with your questions, bringing a family member or friend with you, and arriving early, you will ensure that you make the most of the MDS, MPN, aplastic anemia and PNH conference.

We look forward to seeing you there!
